Maranatha girls move one step closer to state tourney
The Maranatha Christian Academy girls basketball team has often been overshadowed by the school's succesful boys program. Tuesday night it was the girls turn. The Maranatha girls won a subbsection championship, putting them one win away from the state tournament.

They were at the right place at the right time, and willing to help a 17 year old who had collapsed on the football field. Coaches started CPR, someone called 911 and a former emergency medical technician was there to help. It worked. A life was saved, and those involved were honored at a ceremony.
