Wayzata wins semis, gets ready for girls soccer finals
They seem to be getting better as the season nears an end.
The Wayzata girls soccer team, the defending champion in Class AA, beat Blaine 4-1 Tuesday in the state semifinals.
That has Wayzata back in the championship game for the 12th time.
Kylie Schwarz, Summer Johnson, Maddie Eklin, and Ruby Stauber scored for Wayzata in the win over Blaine.
The Trojans crushed St. Michael-Albertville in the quarterfinals, and won their three section playoff games by a combined score of 25-2.
Wayzata aims for the seventh girls soccer title in school history Thursday when they meet White Bear Lake at 3 p.m. at the Metrodome. The Bears upset top seed Lakeville North in the other semifinal.
