Rebels whip Anoka, get set for Maple Grove
They've had some nailbiters lately, but the Champlin Park football team didn't need any late game heroics Friday.
The Rebels dominated in a 42-17 win over Anoka, taking the Battle for the Paddle and the Pumpkin Bowl trophy.
Besides being a satisfying win over a big rival, the victory kept Champlin Park on track to play for a conference title this week.
The Rebels host Maple Grove Wednesday, with the winner taking the North division title in the new two division setup in the Northwest Suburban Conference.
