The pace is quick, but Kate Schipper of Brooklyn Park and Dani Cameranesi of Plymouth feel right at home.
The two talented players from the northwest suburbs are skating at the USA Women's Hockey national festival this week with the best players in the country in their age group.
They are competing for spots on the U.S. under-18 team that will play Canada in a three-game series next week in Blaine.
Cameranesi, who plays high school hockey for Blake, and Schipper, who helped Breck to the state Class A title, made the U.S. team last summer and hope to do it again.
