She knows she's a long shot, but for swimmer Emma Paulson, qualifiying for the U.S. Olympic Trials is a thrill.
Paulson, who will be a senior at Wayzata in the coming school year, will swim in the 100 backstroke at the trials.
Her qualifying time places her 76th coming in, and just two swimmers make the team. The experience of being around and competing against some of the nation's premier swimmers is exciting enough.
