12 News Money Savers: The scoop on printable coupons
2010 is being called by some the "year of the coupon." Bargain hunters are redeeming coupons much more than they used to. Besides just the coupon inserts you'll find in the Sunday paper, you can also print more coupons off the Internet.
Finding coupons online
Here's a few tips from pocketyourdollars.com's Carrie Rocha:
If you've ever picked up a Sunday paper, you've most likely seen the Smartsource or Red Plum coupon inserts. You can also go online to those websites www.smartsource.com or www.redplum.com to find and print different coupons.
Also, check out www.coupons.com or your favorite manufacturer's site. Most likely you can sign up to receive special coupons by email.
Legitimate coupons
Not every online coupon is legitimate. To ensure you are printing legitimate coupons:
*Check the number of times you are allowed to print. Legitimate coupons will have a limited number of times you can print them.
*You cannot photocopy coupons. There's a unique tracking number on a coupon. If the grocery store tries to cash coupons with duplicate numbers, they will not be reimbursed.
*A good rule to remember is most sites will only allow you to print a coupon two times.
*Also, 'if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.' If you see a coupon for a free product with unlimited prints, chances are it's not legitimate.
Tip of the Week: Rainbow Foods will begin doubling coupons not only on Wednesday, but on Saturdays too until April 10. Customers are allowed to double five coupons on a transaction that totals $25.
