If you want to garden but have no space to plant, you can "grow up" by using what's called a Tower Garden.
California-based Juice Plus+ invented the system in which you grow plants in a vertical structure that has a 2.5'-x-2.5' footprint. The plants do not grow in soil. Instead, a 20-gallon reservoir, set to a timer, pumps water to the top of the tower so that it dribbles over the plant's exposed roots.
A tower that can accomodate 20 plants will cost about $500. You can order through Heidi's Lifestyle Gardens. Heidi Heiland says the cost covers all the supplies you need to run the garden.
