At 92 years old, Addie Maser can do and has done just about every job at CROSS in Rogers.
"I'm the jack of all trades and master of none," said Maser. "I help wherever they need me the most."
She's volunteered for CROSS since the organization started more than 30 years ago.
"The first place we had was a 16-by-18 room on second floor and we hauled everything up there," said Maser.
Even though the great–grandma winters in Arizona, every summer you'll find her doing the dirty work at CROSS. In the winter, she volunteers at an Arizona food bank and ask sews quilts and crochets items for CROSS to raffle off. During the summer, she takes clothing home from CROSS to repair or remove stains.
"I just really love it and I thank God that we have a place like this," said Maser.
Maser is known for keeping the volunteers on their toes. Her co–volunteers say she's a jokester.
"Nothing ever is quiet when she's around," said Nancy Herron, volunteer.
But when there's work to do, Maser will be ready to do it.
"Addie is always cheerful. She comes in with a smile on her face and stays a long time," said Rachel Vizenor. "She actually outlasts me some days."
Executive Director Char Lake says Maser puts a positive perspective on anything.
"Addie sets the pace for everybody," said Lake. "Addie is a delight for everybody and an inspiration."
Maser says it's the other way around.
"Volunteers are the generous nicest people there are and I love every one of them," said Maser.
As far as encouraging other people to volunteer, this spunky lady says "it wouldn't hurt them any."
